Summer of Love

Summer term is officially over, and I feel really good. I took English Language 322, and it ended up being one of the most useful classes I have ever taken. I finally learned what a comma splice is (you would think one of my English teachers along the way would have stopped and explained it to me), and I now know how to use semicolons and dashes. It's really refreshing to enjoy taking a class and to recognize the value of the knowledge. Anyway, I'm pleased with how that class turned out. Also, it has been a really high quality summer. I feel like spring term was my big break; I worked fifteen hours a week and took two classes, and I had a lot of free time that was filled with friends. Summer was my productive term. I've work between fifty and sixty hours each week, and I've been in class for six hours each week. Some days I really loathed having my schedule so full, and it was often hard to find time to do homework, but now that I'm nearing the end of summer I feel pretty satisfied.

I have a lot of good memories from spring and summer. I'm going to indulge myself and list some: my birthday party in May, spending endless hours hanging out with Christie during spring term, dying my hair for the first time, watching the meteor shower (getting startled by the sprinklers and singing loudly), visiting my sister in Vegas, going to the malt shoppe with Christina, watching movies on Sundays with my roommates, North and South, studying with Kathryn, sitting in the hammock outside of Applewood, using Christina's starving student card, and many more. It's so weird to think back to the end of Winter semester--it seems so far away. Summer isn't actually over yet, but I can feel the change coming--I'll stop working so much and instead fill my time stressing about school, and I'll be moving. I think I'm pretty happy.

This is the kind of post that surfaces when you can't sleep at 5:00am. I wish I had pictures to accompany this post, sorry. Lindsey and Chelsea--thanks for being faithful bloggers.

Off-topic: I was just thinking yesterday or something that you never leave comments on my blog. Then today, I found one!
I am taking ELANG 325 this Fall. I hope it is as good.

You are moving? In a couple of weeks?

Also, howsabout that lil movie? How do you like that for Anglais?

Yeah, I didn't want to bug you about the movie since you were so busy this summer... but I'm just putting this out there, I'd still like one if you get a chance.
Where are you moving to?? Oh, and I had a dream that I asked you about a certain person and if there were any updates, and you got mad at me because I asked you in front of Alex... it was odd. But, then I woke up and remembered I would never do something so foolish. So, hopefully, in the safety of the blog, was this the summer of love for other reasons?? Let me know! Oh, and what is a comma splice??
