Summer Update

I spent a week at home in Washington after SA before I came back to the blessed city of Provo. Christie came out for three days to visit and to see the Northwest. When we weren't sitting on my couch watching Felicity, drinking propel, and eating fiber one granola bars, we got out and explored Vancouver, Camas, and Portland. On Saturday we drove the scenic highway up the Columbia Gorge and stopped at Multnomah Falls and Wahkeena Falls, and then we stopped and hiked the Oneonta Gorge. The hike consisted of traversing a large conglomeration of logs, and walking waist-deep in ice-cold water. It was really fun even though we didn't make it to the waterfall since the the water level was higher than normal. Saturday afternoon we went to Powell's bookstore in Portland where Christie bought some books to add to her stack of books she hasn't read. Sunday we went to church in my ward and then walked around my neighborhood and played on the play set at my elementary school. Sunday night we watched the Sound of Music in my backyard (it was ALMOST warm enough). Monday we went to Lacamas Lake in Camas, walked to the potholes, and ate lunch at Top Burger. Overall, it was a really fun weekend.

Since I've been back in Provo, I haven't done anything noteworthy. I'm working at the copy center 15 hours a week and relaxing all day long. Last weekend Christie and I went up to her parent's townhouse in Lehi and watched tv, made some excellent citrus chicken, and some amazing smoothies with the most amazing blender ever. Yesterday I got a job at the internship office that starts July 15, so I only have a week and a half left of my lazy summer. I feel like this summer is going to go by so fast, and soon it will be Fall all over again and I'll be busy and stressed with school! C'est la vie.

Oh geez. You're working at the copy center again. Wonderful. Fabulous. Oh, can you tell Fred I put him as a reference for some of my job applications? Thanks a mil. And Drew wants you to say hi to "The Christie."

Kristin, I'm sorry you have to return to Provo after such a fun summer on study abroad and of course the great northwest! But, now my chances of running into you are much higher, so I'm happy for that!! :) We should have a 2nd ward reunion or something with everybody in town, or just a Megan and Kristin reunion.

You are the copy center queen! I love Multnomah Falls...and I need directions to Powell's. I went there last time I was in Portland, but I have no idea how to get there. I'll be in that most glorious of cities in August and want to make another trip.
