Day 29: Purchased

This is an output shaft speed sensor. My check engine light came on a couple weeks ago, so I took it to an auto parts store to get a free scan (who knew this existed?), and the result was p0720 Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit. So, after hours of research and many visits to jeepforum.com, I decided I could fix this myself. I took three trips to Napa Auto parts this morning, and $42.95 later, I finally had my hands on the correct part. This lovely output  speed sensor. I shimmied under my car, which was an incredibly claustrophobic experience because you're actually supposed to raise your car to work underneath it (who has time/knowledge/tools for that?), located the part on the transmission, and, after a small battle with the electrical plug and a wrench, I removed the faulty part and installed the new one.

And now, instead of a check engine light and a little jolt when my car tries to shift, my car won't even start. Did I mention that owning a car is the WORST?

Day 28: Daily Routine

Apparently the most inspiring part of my daily routine is my toothbrush?

Day 26: Something Old

My dad made this gumball machine, and I think it's as old as I am (maybe older?). You spin the ears to make gumballs roll out the mouth--nifty, huh?

Day 20: What I Read

My masters has ruined me. I won't be able to read anything longer than a tweet for another 4 and a half years.

I'm not going to lie. I love hot dogs.

Day 15: My Shoes

These are the most comfortable flats I have ever owned, and this is my favorite place to sit and read at my parents' house. Especially when it's gloomy and drizzling.

Day 14: Flowers

I've been excited about all of the photo themes for this September challenge until today. For some reason as I walked around my house searching for any sort of "flower" inspiration, directly relevant or not, nothing seemed like a good fit. Every photo opportunity seemed to say, "I'm a flower, so you could take a picture of me and no one would notice that you're not really into today's theme." But nothing seemed to attract my attention as anything beyond a photo that happens to relate to flowers. So, I halfheartedly present this squash blossom from my mom's garden as my "flower" offering.

Day 13: From a Distance

In high school I went through an astronomy phase, and me and my brother got a telescope and stargazing guides. I've been meaning to brush up my interest, and the "From a Distance" theme and the nearly full moon seemed like the perfect opportunity to spend a fall evening looking at the stars.

One of my favorite games ever.

Day 10: Something I Made

Apple pie! I can feel fall slowly settling in, and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than an apple pie. An "A" for apple/adultery is carved on top.

Day 9: Faceless Self-portrait

Slowly learning how to use my new camera . . .

Day 8: Technology

Oddly enough, I spent the technology day visiting my Grandma's house where remote controls are too big to hold with one hand and the answering machine is a separate box. (This is a picture of my Grandma's old Singer sewing machine.)

I spent the holiday weekend in Park City sans internet, so I'm catching up on my photo posts today. All photos were taken on the corresponding day.
