London Week 2

Now that we've finished our London walks and started classes I feel like things have slowed down a bit. Now I feel like I'm actually experiencing things not just seeing them in passing. We took a day trip this week to Canterbury, Rye and Beachy Head. The trip was a lot of fun and our packed lunches were absolutely amazing, but the bus ride was long, excruciating and sickening. I'm not looking forward to traveling to Scotland next week. Since we've had class this week we've had less time to run around London, but I have seen a lot of museums. I went to the Victoria & Albert Museum which had a cool room on fashion and some really great sculptures. I also went to the British Museum--home of the famous Rosetta Stone, and I went to the Tate Modern, which has modern and abstract art (my favorite of the three). We have to spend about 7 hours drawing for our art class, so I spent three hours drawing at the Tate Modern and four hours drawing the Westminster bridge... maybe when it's closer to completed I'll post a picture. In between running around museums I'm usually saying stupid things around Rachel and Makayla or eating McFlurrys at McDonalds. What more do you need in life?

This is the waterlilly house at Kew Gardens, which we went to on Friday.

Do any of those museums have a quiz to find out which Jane Austen heroine you are?

"I went to the Victoria & Albert Museum which had a cool room on fashion and some really great scriptures." What I read the first time I was reading that sentence while rubbing my allergy inflicted eye... What you actually wrote makes more sense though.

It's cool, but is it really as cool as New York? Probably not.
