I'm in Washington for the weekend. We drove through the night on Thursday, which was a little dangerous, I'm not going to lie. I will now describe our near death experiences. First, the first three hours I couldn't see a thing (including the lines on the road) with all of the rain, fog and snow (very white knuckle for the first couple of hours)--it's a miracle we stayed on the road. Next, at 5am I was fighting to keep my eyes open (yes this is when you ask someone else to drive, but we only had an hour or so left), and I slowly closed my eyes, veering for the side of the road, and Katie grabbed my hand on the wheel and I was scarred into sleeplessness for the next hour. Finally, a not-so-near-death experience, but evidence of my extreme fatigue, while stopped at a red light in Yakima I saw the adjacent light turn green and though it meant green for me. I drove straight through our red light. Meghan was like . . . uh Kristin what are you doing? Luckily, no one was at/in the intersection, so it wasn't disastrous. But, come on, who runs a red light AFTER stopping for it? Anyway, we made it to Yakima (or Crackima as my friend Renae calls it) and my mom picked me up Friday morning.
It has been a nice break, filled with nice home-type things like couches, tv, sleep, food. Oh, wait, my apartment has those things too . . . except for maybe food. It really has been nice. I got most of my homework done before I left, so I feel guilt-free in my relaxation, which rarely happens at school.

Tomorrow is another 12hours+ of driving. At least it will be during the day.

Oh how I've missed Kristin blogging. I'm so glad that rehab has worked pretty well for you so far. This is actually Chelsea, by the way.
Thanks for the support Chelsea. I really couldn't do this without all the help and comfort I have been getting from friends and family.
wow you weren't kidding, that does sound like a scary driving experience! i'm glad we got to hang out this weekend even if it was for a short time.

I had a friend who ran a red light once because the arrow turned green. Except there were people in the intersection, so we almost died. I'm glad your experience was not like this. Oh, and here is more help and support as you journey through your stint in rehab. Together, we can achieve more.
I appreciate you doing a lot of the driving on the trip. Seriously.
New rule: Meghan's not going on any more road trips without me. It makes me worry too much...Besides, I'm a road warrior.

i guess i didn't know i had an account here? but it says that i have a "blogger display name". anyway, i ran into ashley mcallister (who i havent seen in over a year even though we go to the same school) and kurtis at fred meyer the other night. they live together with some other people and it was a weird reunion. but of course out of nowhere ashley says "hey whats with kristin lowe appearing on facebook?" lol and i laughed a little but we gossiped about you for a while. anyway, you should tell me when you're in town because more likely than not i am too! i was in portland for the weekend from friday to WEDNESDAY...yes i skipped way too much school. bad job. ok well i'm just checking up on you...hope you have a great weekend and whatever else. i have a busy weekend of faking like i am an academic in my super hard english class.
